Rock singer Joe Cocker has died following a battle with lung cancer, his label Sony Music says. He was 70.
The singer, whose biggest hits included Up Where We Belong and You Are So Beautiful, died Monday, Sony Music said.
Born in Sheffield, England, Cocker died “after a hard fought battle with small cell lung cancer,” Sony said in a release.
The musician’s international success as a blues/rock singer began in 1964 and continued until his death.
He produced nearly 40 albums and toured extensively around the globe.
His last tour was in 2013 in Europe, according to his website.
