The national forecaster issued a snow squall warning early Friday afternoon for parts of the GTA, including Toronto, Halton Hills, Milton, Mississauga and Brampton. It ended just before 2 p.m.

Meanwhile, a snow squall watch is in effect for Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Newmarket, Uxbridge and northern York and Durham regions.

“Changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common,” the national forecaster said.

“Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Road closures are possible.”
