BY THE NUMBERS: Toronto’s 2015 proposed operating & capital budgets

Mayor John Tory unveiled the proposed 2015 operating and capital budgets at city hall on Tuesday.

Here are some of the big numbers from the $11.5 billion operating budget and $31.7 billion capital budget.

Proposed annual property tax increase or  $71.70 for the average household.

Amount the city hopes to receive from the Ontario government to help balance this budget. Those negotiations are ongoing, Tory said.

Of all the new investments included in the operating budget 46 per cent is earmarked for improving the transportation system.
