Etobicoke rink evacuated after ammonia leak at city office building

A rink was evacuated as a precaution following an ammonia leak at a city office building in Etobicoke, police and fire officials say.

Emergency workers were called to 340 Park Lawn Rd., between Kings Point Drive and Hills Height Road, around 5 p.m. on Tuesday. It houses Toronto Finance.

They said a man there got sprayed with ammonia after a compressor possibly broke.

His injuries aren’t considered serious but he was taken to hospital to be treated. Out of an abundance of caution the nearby rink was evacuated.

Shortly after 10 p.m. all crews cleared the area after it was deemed safe.
