Woman, 58, struck and killed by vehicle in Scarborough

A 58-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Scarborough on Wednesday morning.
Emergency crews were called to Birchmount and Ellesmere roads around 6:30 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the woman jay-walked as she crossed the street to wait at a TTC bus stop.
The driver, a 58-year-old man, remained at the scene.
The intersection was closed but has since reopened.
