Driver survives plunge from Hwy. 403 overpass in Mississauga

A man is lucky to be alive after his car flew off Highway 403 and plummeted 20 metres to the road below.

The vehicle landed on its roof on Tomken Road after the driver lost control, struck the guardrail and rolled off the eastbound lanes of Highway 403 early Tuesday morning.

The single-vehicle crash happened around 1:30 a.m.

The driver suffered a head injury but was conscious and breathing when he was taken to hospital by air ambulance.

His injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

No charges have been laid.
