Man arrested for impaired driving after 2-vehicle crash in York Region

York regional police say alcohol is a factor in a two-vehicle crash that sent one driver to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A car rear-ended another car at the intersection of Highway 7 and Thornhill Woods Drive, west of Bathurst Street, around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The 52-year-old driver of the car that was rear-ended was rushed to a trauma centre in Toronto.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 23-year-old man from Richmond Hill, was arrested at the scene for impaired driving causing bodily harm.

Highway 7, between Thornhill Woods and Lagnstaff Road, will be closed for several hours for the police investigation.
