Toronto Blue Jays' Taylor Swift parody among Top 10 YouTube videos in Canada

An incredibly catchy – and incredibly touching – video of the Toronto Blue Jays, set to the music of Taylor Swift, was among the most-watched YouTube videos in Canada this year.

First Place – a play on Swift’s hit song Blank Space – was created by Adam Jesin, alongside DigitizeGuys’ Jesse Glowinsky and David Henriques. It was released as the team was fighting for – you guessed it – first place in the AL East just before the playoffs began.

It celebrated Alex Anthopolous’ savvy trades, Kevin Pillar’s ‘Superman’ catches, and Marcus Stroman’s ability to heal like Wolverine. It also paid tribute to David Price, who was only with the Jays a short time, and a lineup full of ‘mashers’ like Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion.

The video was No. 10 on YouTube’s list of the Top Trending Videos in Canada for 2015. Watch it below or click here to view it.

The Jays didn’t make an appearance in the rest of the top 10, but Swift did: her music was used in a video from the Dover, Delware police, whose Dashcam Confessional was No.4 on the list.

The No.1 spot belongs to a young dancer named Heaven, who first shot to fame when she was featured on Ellen. Her routine to Silento’s Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae), complete with hot pink Power Wheels, is a must watch.

When it comes to music, Canadians preferred videos from outside our borders. Just two Canadians cracked the Top Trending Music Videos in Canada for 2015: The Weeknd’s The Hills, and Justin Bieber’s What Do You Mean.

Making another appearance was Silento’s Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) as well as Swift, whose Bad Blood video featuring Kendrick Lamar was No. 5.

At No. 1 was Wiz Khalifa’s See You Again featuring Charlie Puth. The video, from the Fast and Furious 7 soundtrack, had grown men weeping into their keyboards.
