Police in Grenada say they have charged a man in the death of a New Brunswick woman who disappeared while jogging on the small Caribbean island more than a week ago.
In a statement, police say Akim Frank has been formally charged in the death of Linnea Veinotte.
The 26-year-old man turned himself in after being wanted in connection with her disappearance.
Police didn’t indicate the exact charge, but say they will hold a briefing today at their headquarters in St. George’s.
Assistant Supt. Sylvan McIntyre of the Royal Grenada Police Force said late Friday that police were still awaiting autopsy results.
A Facebook page says Veinotte was born in New Denmark, N.B., and has a home in Nova Scotia.
