Toronto Zoo releases video of rare white lion cubs

By News Staff

It was their first day on display to the public and the Toronto Zoo’s white lion cubs did not disappoint.

The four youngsters – now nearly three months old – played with their mom Makali in the new outdoor viewing area on Saturday afternoon.

They nuzzled each other, climbed over logs and over Mom, and rolled around the enclosure.

The viewing area is also their transitioning den, the Zoo said. As the lions grow older, they will be moved into a larger exhibit area.

The viewing area is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily, weather-permitting. Can’t make it down? Check out the video below or click here to view it.

Makali, a four-year-old rare white lion, gave birth to two cubs on Sept. 26 and two cubs on Sept. 27. This is the first time the lions have been on display to the public.
