Charges upgraded to first-degree murder in Shoppers Drug Mart stabbing

By News Staff

A woman accused in a fatal stabbing at a downtown Toronto Shoppers Drug Mart is now facing a charge of first-degree murder.

Rohinie Bisesar, 40, was initially charged with second-degree murder in the death of 28-year-old Rosemarie Junor.

On Wednesday that charge was upgraded, throwing into question original reports by police that described the attack as random.

The stabbing happened at a Shoppers located in the PATH system at 66 Wellington St. W., just before 3 p.m. on Dec. 11.

Junor was rushed to hospital, where she died five days later.

Bisesar was the subject of a manhunt for several days before her arrest.

She is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 29 at 2 p.m. at Old City Hall in courtroom 111.
