Police identify man charged in connection to Vaughan, Toronto sex assaults

York Regional police have identified a man arrested in connection to four sexual assaults in Vaughan and Toronto.

Le Roi Wisdom Saul, 30, is facing four counts of sexual assault and a single charge of criminal harassment.


An arrest warrant was issued for Saul on Thursday after tips from the public helped identify him.

On Friday, police say Saul was detained and arrested at the Ambassador Bridge border crossing in Windsor while attempting to enter Canada.

The first alleged sexual assault Saul is charged with took place on May 26.

Police say an 18-year-old woman got off a bus in the Keele Street and Rutherford Road area around 1 p.m. and walked to her home. As she was unlocking her front door, a man ran towards her from the sidewalk and sexually assaulted her.

The man fled when the woman fought him off, police say.

The next alleged assault happened on June 8.

Police allege a 33-year-old woman was walking in the Whitmore Avenue and Fairleigh Crescent area around 11 p.m. The same man, police say, approached the woman from behind and sexually assaulted her. He fled when she screamed.

The third alleged assault happened around 11:15 p.m. on June 21.

Police say a 29-year-old woman was walking near Brooke Avenue and Yonge Boulevard when a man approached her from behind, dragged her up a driveway, and sexually assaulted her.

The woman fought him off and he fled.

The details of the fourth sexual assault charge have not been released.
