A trio of masked bandits stormed into an east end marijuana dispensary on Saturday, pistol whipping an employee and firing a gunshot before fleeing with weed and cash, Toronto police say.
It happened at around 7 p.m. at The Green Leaf dispensary at 2145 Danforth Ave.
Three employees were inside the store when the suspects entered. One of the suspects was wielding a small black handgun.
The employees were ordered to the ground and one was allegedly struck with the gun. At one point a shot was fired, but no one was hit, according to police.
One of the employees was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
It’s the latest in a string of recent marijuana dispensary robberies in Toronto.
On Dec. 21, a Canna Clinic dispensary on Ossington Avenue was held up by four masked men.
On Jan. 4, a Cannabis Culture dispensary at Queen Street East and Broadview Avenue was held up, reportedly at gunpoint. Police were called, but they said employees were hesitant to cooperate.
