Fire crews responded to an electrical fire at Lakeridge Health Hospital in Oshawa on Sunday.
The blaze originated in the basement and was extinguished but smoke permeated the building.

Ambulances were redirected and families were asked to refrain from visiting temporarily.

Durham Regional Police says access to the hospital is limited to emergencies only. Hospital Court and Parkwood Court are closed at Simcoe and Golf Sreet North of Adelaide Street.

No injuries were reported and crews are working to clean and restore the hospital to full operations.
