Man sought after allegedly exposing himself to girl, 9, in grocery store

York regional police are searching for a man who allegedly exposed himself to a nine-year-old girl in a Markham grocery store.

The alleged incident happened near McCowan Road and Bur Oak Avenue around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The girl was shopping with her father when they became separated. The suspect then approached the girl and told her his name was George, police said. Police allege he then exposed himself and told her not to tell anyone. The girl told her father what happened during the car ride, and her father told police.

Police say they have surveillance video from the store and it appears that the suspect followed the young girl around the store both before and after the incident.

Police released images of the suspect and his vehicle, and are asking anyone with information to contact police.

The man is white, with grey hair that is balding. He is approximately 70 years old, and was wearing beige shorts and a beige shirt. He was driving a navy blue Pontiac Montana van.
