Shots fired at Woodbridge restaurant

By News Staff

York regional police are investigating after shots were fired at a Woodbridge restaurant on Monday night.

The shooting happened at the Motorino Restuarant on Rutherford Road, west of Weston Road, around 9:40 p.m.

One bullet hit the window as about 40 customers were inside. However, the bullet did not go through the glass, and no one was hurt.

Police also found a vehicle in the parking lot that appears to have been struck by a bullet.

Police said they were told that another vehicle was seen leaving the parking lot shortly after the shots were fired.

No arrests have been made.

Clarification: Police initially said that they believed a vehicle parked in the lot, not the restaurant itself, was the target of the gunfire. Hours later in the investigation, police deleted that tweet and said the vehicle was not targeted.
