Technical glitch with baggage scales at Pearson causes backlogs

By News staff

A technical glitch with the baggage scales at Pearson International Airport’s terminal 1 caused a major backlog on Tuesday morning.

The Greater Toronto Airport Authority told CityNews there was a problem with the scales, which resulted in huge lineups at the check-in counters.

The situation with the scales has since been resolved, but as of 8:05 a.m. there were 14 delayed departures, according to the flight schedules on Pearson’s website.
