Montreal man wanted in human trafficking investigation

Toronto police have released a photo of a Montreal man wanted in connection with a human trafficking investigation.

According to police, an 18-year-old woman was forced into the sex trade in Ontario and Quebec. She was allegedly forced to turn over all her money to the man, abide by his rules and meet a daily quota set by him.

If she didn’t meet to quota, she was allegedly punished.

Kevin Barreau, 20, is wanted on multiple charges including trafficking in persons over 18, fraud, uttering threats and procuring.

Police are urging Barreau to turn himself in to the nearest police station. He is believed to be somewhere in the Montreal area.

Investigators would also like to encourage all affected individuals to come forward and report Human Trafficking occurrences to police.
