TTC bus driver charged in July traffic fatality

Traffic Services have charged a TTC bus operator a month after a collision left one woman dead in Scarborough.
Police responded to a call at around 11 a.m. on July 18 at Eglinton Avenue East, west of Midland Avenue.
A TTC bus stopped at the bus top near the intersection to let off passengers.
A 71-year old woman exited the bus and as the operator pulled away, the woman fell and was struck by the bus.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The bus driver, a 58-year-old Markham man has been charged with careless driving and an unsafe start from a stopped position.
He is due in court on September 28.
