Attempted murder suspect escaped after ramming police car with Maserati

Toronto police have issued a warning about a man wanted for attempted murder.

28-year-old Tyrell Evans evaded arrest from an address on Friday night near Yonge Street and Avondale Avenue.

Police say they were about to enter the address at around 10 p.m. and take Evans into custody when he got into a black Maserati and began to drive away. He managed to escape by ramming into a police cruiser. No officers were injured.

The car has the Ontario license plate number CBBH661.

He is wanted in connection with an incident dating back to April 9th, resulting in 10 charges including attempted murder and assault with a weapon.

Evans was allegedly involved in an altercation at around 2 a.m. in the Queen and John Streets area. During the incident, he pointed a handgun at another man. He pulled the trigger twice but the gun didn’t fire and he fled the scene.

Police are still looking for Evans who drives a black 2012 Maserati that will have damage to the driver’s-side door. He is described as black, 6-feet tall with a muscular build and shaved head.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is being asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
