Boy, 15, dies after being shot by police in Mississauga

By News Staff

A 15-year-old boy has died after he was shot by police in Mississauga late last month, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) confirms.

Around 2 a.m. on July 27, Peel police were called to a plaza near Creditview and Britannia roads about gas station robbery involving three males.

It’s alleged before police arrived, two of the three suspects fled in a grey vehicle. One remained and allegedly attempted to rob another business. He also reportedly tried to get into three vehicles with people inside.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the suspect outside a bank in the plaza. During an interaction with police, one officer fired a gun, hitting the teen.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and has now died.

The SIU is not releasing the boy’s name.
