Man dead in crash at Upper James Street and Airport Road in Hamilton

One person is dead after a crash at Upper James Street and Airport Road in Hamilton.
The two-vehicle collision happened just after midnight, on Tuesday morning, Hamilton police said.
A Hannnon man was driving a pick-up truck northbound and a Welland man was driving a Volkswagen Beetle southbound on Upper James when both vehicles collided head-on, police said.
The driver of the Beetle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pick-up truck was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing, police said, but impairment has been ruled out.
