Jogger stabbed in unprovoked attack near Dupont and Manning

A 25-year-old man is in hospital and Toronto police are searching for a suspect after a stabbing late Monday night.

Police said shortly after 11 p.m., a man was jogging west on Dupont Street approaching Manning Avenue, east of Christie Street, when another man stabbed him in the back.

The suspect reportedly ran south on Manning with a large hunting knife and was seen near Manning and London Street, north of Bloor.

The man remains in hospital in stable condition.

Police believe the attack was unprovoked.

The suspect is white, about 55 to 60 years old, with a stocky build, a buzz-cut with his hair about one to two inches long. He was wearing a white or pale-coloured dress shirt tucked into dark pants.
