Toronto zoo strike cost city $4M in revenue: report

By News Staff

The strike at the Toronto Zoo earlier this year cost the city owned attraction $4-million and 280,000 visitors.

The figures are part of the attendance and revenue report presented to the zoo board of management on Thursday.

The zoo was closed for about a month from May 11 to June 13 due to the labour disruption. Althought there was some time left in the school year, many school groups and camps had cancelled their trips.

While the attendance numbers were below target through the month of August, they were above last year’s figures.
