Tory calls on TTC to implement time-based transfers for Presto users

Mayor John Tory is calling on the TTC to roll out time-based transfers on the entire transit system for customers using Presto cards.
Tory says it’s an opportunity to make life more affordable for residents, and will encourage more people to use transit.
He’s written a joint letter with TTC Chair Josh Colle and TTC Commissioner Mary Fragedakis to TTC CEO Andy Byford.
Colle and Fragedakis say they’ll be pressing for the change when the TTC’s budget process gets underway on Friday.
The proposed TTC budget goes to the transit agency’s budget subcommittee on Friday and to the Commission on Nov. 28.
It then goes to the city’s budget committee, Tory’s executive committee and city council in 2018.
