WARNING: Video may be upsetting to some viewers

A Kansas City gas station clerk spent several days in hospital after enduring a brutal beating that was caught on security video.

According to the BP gas station’s manager, Darlene Wahwassuc, the man captured on video had been harassing the clerk and made her feel “unsafe” several times.

“He had been in here harassing her, calling her names,” Wahwassuc told news station KCTV.

At one point the clerk had enough and confronted the man, coming out from behind the counter and swinging a bottle at him.

After a brief struggle inside the store, the video shows the man pull the woman outside by the hair and proceed to pummel her while another woman watches.

“When I watch that video I get angry and more angry,” Wahwassuc said, calling the victim the “sweetest girl ever.”

Eventually the employee gets up, only to face another barrage of punches.

She had bruises all over her body. Her face was completely swollen, the station’s manager added.

The gas station is sharing the video in hopes that the suspect will be captured.
