Police have issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for a man accused of murdering a woman in Brampton on the weekend.
Around 7:30 p.m., Peel police were called to a home near Kennedy and Rutherford roads, and found a woman in the basement with serious injuries.
The victim, later identified as Hoden Said, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses said they heard a disturbance at the home around 2:30 p.m. and saw a man leaving on foot.
Police have identified the man they believe is responsible for second-degree murder — Nicholas Anthony Young, a 46 year-old male of no fixed address.
He is black, between five-foot-seven and five-foot-nine, with a stocky build. He is also missing part, if not all, of his ring finger on his left hand.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at (905) 453-2121, ext. 3205, or Crime Stoppers.
