Toronto police say a 28-year-old woman has been arrested for assaulting a TTC inspector.
The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. on Friday in the area of Danforth Avenue and Woodbine Avenue.
It’s alleged she entered a building and began taking mail that didn’t belong to her.
When a resident of the building confronted her, she allegedly assaulted him and fled the scene.
A TTC inspector placed her under citizen’s arrest a short distance away. During their interaction, police say the woman allegedly assaulted him as well.
Numerous pieces of mail from various addresses were reportedly found in her possession.
In a series of videos posted on YouTube by a bystander, the woman can be seen swinging an object and spitting at the officer.

“His training helped to avoid serious injury; fortunately, medical aid was declined,” they said.
“Our frontline employees work tirelessly for the people of Toronto and shouldn’t have to face assault of any kind. The TTC is grateful to the Toronto police for their assistance on this serious matter.”
Toronto police constable David Hopkinson says assault on TTC workers is “more common than you might think”
“In my experience … there are a number of occurrences that we see day in and day out,” he said.
Const. Hopkinson also commended the TTC inspector for his professional conduct during a difficult situation.
Zehra Sundu of Toronto is facing multiple charges including six counts of theft of mail, assault with a weapon, assault, three counts of possession of a credit card obtained by crime and breach of probation.
Police say an investigation is ongoing.
