2 injured after high-speed police chase from Brampton to Etobicoke

Two men are in hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after a high-speed police chase that started in Brampton and ended in Etobicoke.

Police said the incident began when an SUV ran through a RIDE check on Highway 410.

According to the province’s Special Investigations Unit, which is now investigating the incident, two officers were struck by the vehicle as it fled the scene.

OPP pursued the SUV, which ended up crashing through a chain-link fence at the end of Kipling Avenue, north of Steeles Avenue.

The officers sustained only minor injuries.

A 37-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, who were both inside the SUV were taken to hospital.
