Third passenger has died in Monday’s tour bus crash

A third passenger has died in a tour bus crash in eastern Ontario on Monday, provincial police have confirmed.

Officials identified the woman as Weiping Lu, a 60-year-old, from China.

A tour bus carrying 37 people, including the driver, a guide and 35 Chinese tourists crashed into a rock formation by the side of Highway 401 Monday afternoon near Prescott, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police said earlier this week that two other passengers who had died of their injuries sustained in the crash. that a 54-year-old Chinese man had died of injuries suffered during the crash.

Officers identified them as 54-year-old Changlin Xu of Jiansu, China and 57-year-old Xueying Ye of Shanghai, China.

Two passengers who suffered life-threatening injuries are still in hospital, but are reported to have improved and are now in stable condition.

Police say the cause of the crash is still unknown and that an investigation is still ongoing.
