Woman, 94, killed after being struck by pick-up truck in Burlington

Halton police say a 94-year-old woman has died in hospital after being struck by a pick-up truck in Burlington.

Officers were called to the intersection of New Street and Drury Lane in the morning on Thursday to a collision between the pick-up and a woman on a mobility scooter.

The initial investigation by police suggests the pick-up truck was making a left turn when the truck struck the woman in the crosswalk.

Maria Richter of Burlington was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition and succumbed to her injuries on Friday.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police.
