Police identify man shot dead at Sherbourne and Dundas apartment

Toronto police have identified the man who was shot and killed in a downtown apartment building early Monday morning.

Officers were called to a Toronto Community Housing building on Sherbourne Street, north of Dundas Street East, around 2:30 a.m. for a medical call.

They found the man suffering from gunshot wounds inside an apartment on the third floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has been identified as Brent Young, 41, of Toronto.

Homicide detectives are scanning surveillance footage in the building.

So far, police have not released any suspect descriptions.
