A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash in Etobicoke on Wednesday evening.

Police responded to a call at around 5:20 p.m. in the area of Rathburn Road and Renforth Drive for a collision between a car and a motorcycle.

When officers arrived, the motorcyclist was found with life-threatening injuries and was unconscious and having trouble breathing. He was taken to a trauma centre for treatment. His condition has since been upgraded to non-life-threatening.

Police say the driver of the car remained on scene. It is unclear if charges will be laid at this time.

Hey there! Can someone please let me know if this man is okay? I was driving to the NoFrills up by Renforth on wednesday after I was done work to buy some groceries… I saw the gentleman laying on the ground grunting, panting and bleeding all over the concrete road. I was crying and scared to death having a panic attack. There were about 10 people on the floor helping him and waiting for the ambulance to arrive. The fire trucks stopped right in front of me and I was still hyperventilating! I wanted to get out of there because I was going to faint! Thankfully someone was able to let me get into the right lane so I wouldnt be stuck in the left hand turning lane. I called my fiancé on the phone and I was still in a panic almost fainting! I did not buy groceries and went straight home after that. I really hope that this man is okay! I serioisly would love to go and visit him! I called my brother who is also a motorcyclist, just to tell him I love him and to be safe out there on the roads!
