3 children, 2 adults injured in EB Hwy. 401 crash

All eastbound collector lanes of Highway 401 have reopened from Leslie Street to the Don Valley Parkway after an overnight crash that sent five people to hospital.
The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on Monday.
Paramedics said they transported two adults and three children to hospital.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said a 17-month-old baby is in critical condition.
The other two children and the two adults were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
“No other injuries seem to be life threatening at this time,” he said.
All five people injured were in the same car — Schmidt said they are a family.
Two other vehicles were involved in the crash. No one in those vehicles sustained any injury.
There has been no word on what caused the crash.
Schmidt said there is no word on charges at this time.
The highway reopened just after 6 a.m.
