Woman dies after being struck in hit-and-run near Dufferin and Eglinton

Police have located the driver who left the scene after a vehicle struck and killed a woman near Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street.

It happened around 1 a.m. on Thursday.

Police said the woman, believed to be in her 50s, was crossing the street at the intersection of Eglinton and Marlee avenues when she was hit.

The woman was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Police originally indicated the woman was struck by a truck but later said an unknown vehicle left the scene.

Officers haven’t released any information about the driver or any charges.

They are asking witnesses to come forward.
