A 17-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man are in hospital after an apparent assault in downtown Toronto early Monday morning.
The two injured were found outside St. James Cathedral in the King and Church streets area. It is not clear exactly when or how long they were left on the church grounds.
Police were called to the area just before 3:30 a.m. after receiving a call from a man walking his dog who found the victims unresponsive and bleeding.
Police say the pair suffered head trauma and have described their injuries as life-threatening penetrating wounds.
They were rushed to hospital but the teen is now in stable condition. The man is in critical but stable condition.
So far, there is no description of a suspect.
