Man, 66, charged with murder after fatal stabbing in Mississauga

A 24-year-old Mississauga man is dead and another man is facing charges following a stabbing in Mississauga on Friday night.

Peel Regional Police and the tactical unit were called to the area of Hillcrest Avenue and Hurontario Street around 8 p.m.

Police say three individuals were involved in some sort of altercation at an apartment complex in the area and one person was stabbed. The victim was taken to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The victim is not being identified at the request of his family.

Police have now charged Wladyslaw Habas, 66, of no fixed address with second-degree murder.

He appeared in court on Saturday and will remain in custody until at least Monday.

Investigators believe there are no outstanding suspects.
