Pedestrian killed after being struck by car in Brampton

A 37-year-old Mississauga man suffered fatal injuries after being struck by a car in Brampton early Sunday morning.

Peel Regional Police were called to the intersection of Clark Boulevard and Dixie Road around 3:15 a.m.

A car was travelling westbound on Clark Boulevard and police say it appears the pedestrian unexpectedly walked out onto the street and was struck. The force of the impact smashing in the front windshield and crushing a portion of the roof of the car.

Paramedics say they transported one man without vital signs to a trauma centre where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The male driver of the car suffered minor injuries and remained on scene has been cooperating with police.

Police say no charges have been laid at this point.
