There will be a new main attraction at Canada’s Wonderland starting next summer.
A new roller coaster, called the Yukon Striker, is being introduced in the Spring of 2019.
It will feature a 90 degree drop and is expected to reach speeds of up to 130 km/hr.
Canada’s Wonderland is calling it, “the world’s fastest, longest and tallest dive coaster.”
No exact cost for the coaster was given, but it was reportedly significantly more than the $28 million it cost to build the Leviathan in 2012.
Vice-President of Sales and Marketing Dave Phillips tells Richard Southern that they do believe the cost will be recoup from an expanded base. They are expecting a record number of visitors when the roller coaster opens next year.
Phillips also tells Southern they will be opening over the Christmas season for the first time in 2018.
Canada’s Wonderland’s Winterfest will feature skating on the water in front of Wonder mountain and a lighting festival.
