A man is in hospital after he was shot in the neck overnight in the city’s downtown core.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Wellesley and Ontario streets, near Sherbourne Street, just before midnight on Tuesday.
Witnesses reported hearing five gunshots go off and a man lying on the ground.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say the man is now in stable condition.
However, the suspect was taken into custody a short time later. Police say they also recovered a firearm.
Keeron Tashmel Creary, 26, of Toronto, has been charged with attempted murder as well as a number of firearm charges.
