Cambridge man found in Georgian Bay after jumping in water to assist a family pet

Provincial police have found the man who jumped into the waters of the Georgian Bay and did not resurface on Saturday.

Police say they received a call on Saturday at about 5:20 p.m. concerning a missing man in Owen Sound.

Investigators say the man went in the water along with a friend to assist a family pet that had jumped from the boat and failed to resurface.

The search for the man concluded Monday morning when his body was pulled from the Owen Sound harbour.

He has been identified as 27-year-old Derick Henry, of Cambridge.
