Man expected to survive after shooting at Kennedy and Ellesmere

A 35-year-old man is in hospital after he was shot in Scarborough.

Toronto police were called to Kennedy and Ellesmere roads around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The man was shot in the lower body and was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. He is expected to survive.

Police found two sets of gunshots at the scene — one that wounded the victim and a second set a short distance away. Police have not been able to confirm the circumstances of the two sets.

There is no word on suspects.
