Nova Scotia-bred and Ontario-based band The Trews are getting ready to release their highly-anticipated sixth studio album.

“Civilianaires” is their first album of all new music since the release of their critically acclaimed self-titled record in 2014.

“I’m really excited about the album,” said guitarist John-Angus MacDonald. “It’s been a long time in the making and I believe it truly is our best record yet.”

They have had countless tours across Canada, have had 17 of their songs in the top of the charts in Canada in their 20-year career and are more passionate than ever about their work.

“We also feel really luck that we have such a devoted fan base,” lead singer Colin MacDonald said. “They have followed us through thick and thin of it all and follow us on our adventures we take with our music. We are really lucky.”

After two decades of cruising the black-top from show-to-show, The Trews have some hilarious stories of fan encounters.

“We were doing an interview and Ted Danson was on after us,” Guitarist John-Angus MacDonald told CityNews. “And the person who might have been his PR person yelled, ‘Oh my God, Ted! It’s The Trews! Can you take my photo? So there we are, getting a photo with the fan taken by Ted Danson.”

“Civilianaires” will be officially released on September 14.
