Cyclist, 72, dead after collision on Hwy 404 in Newmarket

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after a 72-year-old cyclist was killed in a crash on Highway 404 in Newmarket.
Police responded to a call for a collision in the area of Highway 404 southbound near Mulock Drive around 1:45 p.m.
The man from Scarborough was attempting to cross the southbound lanes of the 404. One car was able to swerve around the man, but he was struck by truck in the far left lane.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Highway 404 was closed for several hours at Davis Drive but has since reopened.
