An injured dog that sought refuge under a TTC bus in Scarborough has been reunited with his family.

The dog was reportedly hit by a car and was found Saturday night, hiding under a bus at a stop near Eglinton and Warden Avenues.

“The driver of the car stopped to try to help the dog, but the dog was injured and afraid and ran away,” said TTC spokesman Brad Ross.

Ross said the dog was coaxed out with the help of TTC employees and Toronto Animal Control and was taken to the vet where he was treated for a leg injury.

The dog was not chipped and did not have a collar on.

Toronto Animal Services tweeted on Monday that the dog had been reunited with his owner via a lost report. They added that Sober the dog’s family was very worried about him and had been searching for him since he went missing.

Sober was picked up from animal services east shelter and is said to be recovering nicely.
