2 arrested in connection with bank robbery in Scarborough

Two people have been arrested in connection with a bank robbery in Scarborough on Monday.

Officers responded to a call for a hold-up at a financial institution around 12:30 p.m. in the Markham Road and Steeles Avenue area.

Police initially said three suspects fled the scene in a car but later confirmed only two people were involved.

The suspect vehicle was then involved in a collision at Tapscott Road and Passmore Avenue.

Two men were taken into custody and a firearm was also recovered.

There is no information on charges at this time.
