Snow, quick temp drop could make Thanksgiving travel tricky

PHILADELPHIA — Possible snow squalls and chilly temperatures could make road trips tricky around Pennsylvania on Thanksgiving Eve.

The bands of snow could move through the northern swath of Pennsylvania Wednesday afternoon and early evening, causing problems for holiday travellers.

The National Weather Service in Binghamton, New York, says parts of the Poconos could see snow showers ending at around 6 p.m., but as temperatures drop quickly, road conditions could be icy.

In Pittsburgh, afternoon snow could complicate the evening rush out of town. The snow band will move through quickly. In Philadelphia, it will be clear and cold.

Travellers at the airports in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia were taking the day in stride, many arriving very early for their flights home for Turkey Day.

At Harrisburg International Airport, therapy puppies are on hand to help travellers keep their stress levels down.
