A suspicious package near Ryerson University campus that shut down streets and brought out the Toronto police ended up being a “discarded alarm.”

The alarm was found beeping in a concrete bin around 10 a.m. on Friday near the campus at Bond Street and Dundas Street East in downtown Toronto.

Ryerson security noticed the beeping and notified police.

Ryerson University had evacuated the area and closed several campus buildings as a result.
