Two pedestrians were hit by vehicles in Peel Region on Wednesday morning, one of them being fatal.
Both incidents happened within a half-hour.
Around 6:45 a.m., emergency crews were called to Queen Street and Kennedy Road in Brampton after a pedestrian was hit by a local transit bus.
The young woman, believed to be in her late teens to early 20s, suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the vehicle remained at the scene.
Then around 7:15 a.m. police were called to Dixie Road and Shawson Drive near Britannia in Mississauga. A pedestrian was hit by a truck near a hotel.
The truck did not remain at the scene.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital but their injuries are not life-threatening.
In both incidents, roads in the area are closed as police investigate.
This comes after a dangerous 24 hours of GTA streets that saw three pedestrians killed in under six hours.
A 63-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle near Erindale Station Road and Dundas Street around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
Only 15 minutes before, a man in his 60s was hit by a vehicle in Scarborough around 7:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Earlier that same day a 79-year-old woman was struck and killed by vacuum truck in Malton.
