By News staff

A bail hearing set for Wednesday afternoon for one of two brothers accused of killing a Mississauga teen has been deferred.

The body of 14-year-old Riley Driver-Martin was found in Meadow Park on Truscott Drive, near Queen Elizabeth Way and Southdown Road, on Friday morning.

Nicholas Mahabir, 20, was arrested later that same day. He faces a charge of second-degree murder.

The next day, his 20-year-old brother Mark Mahabir, turned himself in to police following the issuance of a warrant for his arrest. He is also facing a second-degree murder charge.

Nicholas was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon but instead appeared via video link for just a few minutes. His hearing has been put over to Dec. 24, when he is expected to make another appearance via video. His brother Mark will make a court appearance in person on the same day.

Police have not said how the victim and the co-accused knew each other. The cause of death has not been released.

A funeral for Driver-Martin, who was a grade 9 student at Clarkson Secondary School, will be held on Thursday.
